The Program Delivery Department in Open Learning is revising and expanding a series of short, open courses designed to build confidence and capacity in those who may be new to teaching online or those who would like to diversify their practice.

The program is grounded in the Community of Inquiry model.

We have three courses planned, each one focussed on one of the presences in the CoI:

  1. Teaching Presence: Creating a Positive Presence in Your Virtual Classroom (OTL101)
  2. Cognitive Presence: Assessment and Feedback to Maximize Student Learning (OTL201)
  3. Social Presence: Engaging and Retaining Your Students (OTL301)
