The Course Outline/Blueprint
You will want to outline the following on your course outline blueprint:
- textbook name, publisher, page numbers, (include the total page numbers of a journal or book), ISBN number;
- learning outcomes, learning objectives;
- module content - concept title and related sub-concepts;
- activities that enable students to achieve the course learning objectives;
- activities related to the identified concepts and sub-concepts;
- activities that address a variety of learning preferences and learning needs;
- multimedia resources for your course that include slides, graphics, video etc.; and,
- course evaluation components

Course Development Tips
- provide electronic copies of your text documents. We do not have time to make electronic copies of hand-written work.
- self-designed graphs and charts may require media support. Let your instructional designer know if this is the case.
- review the activity section to make sure it is consistent with the slides, self-assessment (defined as practice problems and cases), video lecture, and other course components you develop.
- list all copyright required. Do not include copyright items you will not use in the course outline/blueprint. Note: We require time to obtain copyright material; but, with tight timelines do not have the resources to obtain copyright for items not being used in the course. Therefore, please review your copyright materials in the course outline/blueprint to make sure it is accurate. Feel free to add required copyright items as you develop the modules; but, only the required and not optional items. Optional items can be included for the second offering of the course.
- use the slide template. Refer to the Multimedia Information on the wiki.
- review the multimedia information before developing Camtasia lecture. Contact Bob Byrne before you start and provide him a copy of your first video for feedback.
