FIRST NATIONS LANGUAGE COURSE GOALS/OUTCOMES LEARNING OBJECTIVES
FNLG 1000 Students will be introduced to and gain an appreciation for connections between the First Nations language and the culture associated with peoples of that language group and their life-ways. demonstrate the ability to understand and respond in everyday conversational situations;
communicate in a variety of everyday situations, including community life and events;
demonstrate the ability to respond to simple commands and greetings in the First Nations language using short phrases or appropriate actions;
gain an appreciation for basic oral traditions and cultural protocols of the First Nations language; and
develop an awareness of grammatical structures and sounds associated with the First Nations language.
